Read the signs around you

Not every useful word comes from a conversation. A label on a door, a tool, or a map can tell you where you are and what you can do next.

Let the scene help you

Food, weather, tools, gifts: the things around you help you guess what words mean. Use NearWord to check your guess and understand how a word fits the conversation.

Turn a request into a few clear questions

When reading a letter or request, look for the item, the quantity, the recipient, and any deadline mentioned. You don’t have to understand every adjective to work out what is being asked. Check the one word that leaves a gap, then read the request again as a whole.

If the answer looks strange, compare the recognized word with the original before trying another definition. An item name or a person’s name may not be ordinary vocabulary. Use the surrounding scene and the game’s own item descriptions to make the connection. Check a word after the conversation if stopping now would interrupt your play.

Make small text easier to read

Pixel fonts and small labels can make recognition harder. Increase the interface scale and check that NearWord has read the word correctly.
