Do I need an account to use NearWord?
No. The Local plan works without any account. Download, install, and start looking up words immediately. Create an account only if you want cloud features.
What happens when I hit my daily limit?
We switch to the offline dictionary. You're never locked out. The limit resets at midnight your local time.
Is the Lifetime deal really lifetime?
Yes. One payment, lifetime access to Pro features. We have a fair-use policy for AI (500 lookups/day) to prevent abuse, but normal users will never hit it.
Can I use my own OpenAI key?
Yes! Power users can add their own API key in Settings. When using your own key, cloud limits don't apply.
What platforms are supported?
NearWord runs on macOS (12+), Windows (10+), and Linux. All plans work on all platforms.
Can I get a refund?
Monthly and annual plans can be cancelled anytime. For Lifetime, we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee.
